Gustavo Revita

Gustavo Revita passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013, with his loving family at his side. Gustavo was born on October 31, 1931, to Dominga and Artemio Revita.
Gustavo served proudly in the United States Navy, retiring after 22 years and serving in two foreign wars. After his service, Gustavo worked for the government as a civil servant. He retired after many years of dedicated service from the Veteran’s Hospital as a warehouseman.
Gustavo is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Gus (Kristen) Revita, Rod (Sandra) Revita, Mike (Pat) Larpenter, and Debbie (Tim) Nash; seven grandchildren, Lucy, Lindsey, Candice, Allie, Jordan, Jill, and David; three great-grandchildren, Dominik, Arianna, and Alice; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, and grandson, Abraham.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

Grandpa Gus was as solid as a rock. His family always came first! He will be sorely missed and never forgotten!

Gustavo was my shipmate on the USS el Paso and my leading chief. He helped give me the leadership I needed to pursue my navy career. He will be sorely missed. I wish fair winds and following seas to my shipmate.
