Marcia Lynné (Klepinger) Pringle

May 20, 2013

Service Details

After touching the lives of so many around her, Marcia Lynné Pringle left this world peacefully in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 20th, 2013, to reunite with her dad, family, and friends in heaven.

Born January 2, 1953, to Leona and Lowell Klepinger, Marcia grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa. It was during her young years that Marcia learned the values she would carry throughout the rest of her life: optimism, caring, listening, and a strong will to live life to its fullest. During her time working at a Doctor’s office, she met her Prince Charming that swept her off of her feet, and married John Pringle on May 28th, 1983. In addition to being an amazing wife and mother to two daughters she was so proud of, Marcia was an amazing person of service. She was a Teacher’s Associate with special needs children for 18 years at Westridge Elementary School. Marcia was loved and cherished by her students and co-workers, who knew her determination was helping others live a better life. During her free time, Marcia so enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, and being with family and friends.

Her diagnosis of Renal Cell Carcinoma in February of 2007 took her through a challenging six years. Throughout this time, she endured surgeries, hospitalizations, and healing time with God. Marcia continuously mentioned how blessed she was to not struggle with pain or side effects. During this time, Marcia overcame obstacles with her positive and beautiful attitude, determined to beat it. We are so thankful for her entire care team, including Dr. Tom Buroker, nurses Pat, Michelle, and Jayne, who helped her through her good and bad times.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Klepinger. She is survived by her loving family, husband, John Pringle; daughter, Lisa Pringle-Chmelka; daughter, Ashley Pringle; son-in-law, Joseph Chmelka; granddaughter, Isabella Root; grandsons, Jacob and Jared Chmelka; mother, Leona Klepinger; sister, Jana Mitchem; brother-in-law, Ray Mitchem; and various cousins, nephews and their families.

A visitation will take place on May 23, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A Celebration of Life service will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 24th at 11 a.m., at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, with a lunch afterwards. Cremation will follow the service.

Donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House and John Stoddard Cancer Center, Care Coordinator Program.

We want to thank all friends and family for the loving support we have been given throughout the tough road. So many people have told us how she touched and impacted their lives. Marcia’s legacy is exemplified by one of the many sayings that she followed in her life: “Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.” –James M Barrie

See you soon our sweet Angel; we love you to the moon and back!
