Roger McWilliams

Roger McWilliams, 79, of Des Moines died at home on May 10, 2013. Roger was born in Des Moines to Jearl and Dorothy McWilliams.

He was the owner of R D Williams Paint Contracting for 51 years. He raced modified race cars for 20 years. Roger loved music and most of all, he loved the Lord.

Roger is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly (White) McWilliams; his children Rebecca (Dan) Anderson of Bouton, Iowa, Michael (Becky) McWilliams of Johnston, Iowa and Lisa McWilliams; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Bruce (Sheryl), Jim (Leah), Tim (Paula), and Ed.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Alan and his sister Barbara Richards.

A short memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. ,Thursday, May 16, 2013, at St. James Lutheran Church, 5665 Merle Hay Road, Johnston, Iowa. Then starting at 3:45 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., there will be a Celebration of Life visitation where family will greet friends. The family requests people wear casual attire (jeans) and be comfortable.
