Katerra “Kat” Harper was born to Laura (Dillinger) and Scott Harper January 24, 1997, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was called to ride with the angels on May 8, 2013.
Kat was a sweet, artistic girl with a heart full of love. She was highly involved with the Lincoln High Marching Band where she indulged in her love for music. With a passion for words, Kat enjoyed song lyrics that spoke to the average teenage girl facing above-average situations.
Kat is survived by her parents Laura (Steve) Dillinger and Scott (Julie) Harper; her siblings Nathan, James, Jocelyn, Alysa, Stacey, Ryan, and Brian; her grandparents Carolyn and Bill Ross, John and Darlene Harper, Hazel Mullahey, Joyce and Lonnie Frakes, and Steve and Debra Dillinger.
She was preceded in death by her uncle Donny Shiffer, sister Kara Haegele, and great-grandma Opie.
Funeral services will be held at First Assembly of God, 2725 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa 50310, at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

To the Harper and Dillinger family- I am very sorry for your loss. It feels like yesterday we were best friends in elementary school. She will be dearly missed as a family member and friend. She is in my prayers and she looking down on you guys and her friends as our guardian angel.

Scott, Laura, and families my heart breaks for you. There are no words for the loss you feel I truly am sorry. Scott I will always remember the light I saw in your eyes when she was so young and my boys and her would play together, now they will be playing together again until we meet up with them. If ever you need to talk please don't hesitate to call me. I will always be here to listen no matter what kind of day your having. Sending love and lots of prayers.
