Don Cahhal

Don Cahhal, 86, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living, with his family by his side. He was born July 25, 1926, in Des Moines, to Nellie (Hess) and George Cahhal.

Don married his high school sweetheart, Alice Paula Henderson in 1947. Together they raised four children with love and care. Don served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He retired after many years of dedicated service as Senior Vice President of Western Pacific Bank. He was an amateur radio operator, but his main passion was playing the church organ.

Don is survived by his children, Douglas (Carla) Cahhal, Kerri Peters, and Christopher (Paula) Cahhal; grandchildren, Alicia Cahhal, Andrea Cahhal, and Brandon (Jennifer) Bobrick; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Paula; son, Kevin Cahhal; his parents; his brother, George; and his sister, Dorothy.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church, 9020 160th Avenue, in Indianola.
