Joyce Ann Schleeter
April 25, 2013
Joyce Ann Schleeter was born in the upper Mississippi River town of Lansing, Iowa on March 15, 1934, a daughter of the late Charles and Luanna Hartman. Surrounded with love from her three children, she went peacefully home April 25, 2013.
Known to her Lansing family as Noonie, Joyce married the love of her life, Robert Schleeter, in 1952 and soon relocated to the Des Moines area. She enjoyed life in many different ways, but it was her love for family and friends that best define her, beginning with the unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. She cheered for every adventure and endeavor of the next generation and the generation after that. Many years after retirement, Joyce continued to meet with friends from her days in advertising. She had a life-long love of fishing and was a devoted fan of the Cubs, win or lose. She loved traveling to California to see her sons and grandkids. She loved spending time with her best friend, her daughter Rebecca. She loved her life and gave never-ending support and happiness to others.
Joyce’s memory is celebrated by her children, known to her as Bobby, Becky and Pat; grandchildren, Casey, Ryan, Natalie and Andrew; her beloved Aunt Susie; many special cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws; as well as many dear friends from all walks of life. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob; daughter, Jill; and sister, Pat.
Online condolences can be left on Joyce Schleeter’s memorial tribute at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com/services. Memorial donations can be made to the family to be directed to historical preservation in Lansing.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Burial will be in Lansing, IA on Monday, April 29 in Oak Hill Cemetery with a funeral service prior at Lansing Methodist Church at 10 a.m.

My deepest condolences to the family on the loss of your wonderful mother. Joyce brought a special joy to all those she touched. She
always had a special place in her heart for her visits to my dad's restaurant and he for her. She LOVED Raul's enchiladas and I truly believe they are cooking them up together in heaven! May God's angels bring you comfort and peace.
