David E. Smith, 68, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Altoona Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born January 26, 1945, in Manchester, Iowa, to Merle and Erma Smith. David enjoyed trains and westerns. He was an avid NASCAR, Iowa Hawkeyes, Dodgers, Cubs, Bears, and Celtics fan.
David is survived by his children, Kim, Jerry, Robyn, and Kasey; 11 grandchildren; and his former wife, Karen. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and a grandson.
A private graveside service will be held at Grantview Cemetery near Greeley, Iowa.

We have been trying to locate your dad for a long time. We are from Manchester area and lived out west for many years. We spent a lot of time and have so many good and funny memories of him. Wish we could have seen him before he passed. Would love to hear from someone in his family. Feel free to contact us. We visited your grandparents grave a year ago in Greeley.

we were so sad when Karen called. but now Dave can be with his parents who he dearly loved..
