Lois Leach

Lois G. Leach, 88, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Parkridge Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5615 SW 14th Street, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Lois was born November 18, 1917 in Sioux City where she married her husband, Richard Rlo Leach and raised her family. She was a member of the DAR, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Cub Scout Den Mother in Sioux City. Richard and Lois moved to Des Moines in 1966. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her children, Bill Leach, Dan (Mary Lou) Leach, Bob (Sheila) Leach, Lois (Mike) Kress, Carol (Frank) Rankin, Tim (Rhonda) Leach, Joanne Callahan, Susan (Curt) Myatt, and Mike (Lauri) Leach; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; infant son, Richard; one brother; and three sisters.
Memorial contributions may be given to Parkridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 4755 Parkridge Avenue, Pleasant Hill, IA 50327.
