Lloyd C. Pace, 87, died from complications of advanced Parkinson’s Disease on Thursday, April 11, at the Colorado State Veteran’s Home. Visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home from 12-1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 27, with graveside rites held at 2 pm, at Webb Cemetery (Spring Hill), followed by memorial services at Norwalk Christian Church at 3 pm, with Rev. Dayna Kinkade presiding.

Lloyd, a staunchly proud native of Iowa, was born a twin in rural Orient/Zion. After graduating in the class of 1943 from North High School, Lloyd served as a Coast Guard signalman during WWII. After returning from the war he covered territory sales and underwriting for Hawkeye Security Insurance, Mill Owners Mutual Insurance, and then Continental Western Insurance, where he retired as assistant VP and Director of Education. His additional devotions included adult education/instruction at both Drake University and the Iowa Agents Commercial Licensing School, former member of the Norwalk Town Council and Norwalk United Methodist Church, organizer and VP of the Northwest Toastmasters Urbandale, board and advisory board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters, President of the Iowa Chapter of CPCU, appointee to the Iowa Insurance Commissioner’s Committee for Continuing Education, President of the Iowa Chapter of United Ostomy Association, volunteer for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, elder Emeritus of the Norwalk Christian Church, and long-standing supporter to the American Legion, VFW, and DAV.

Lloyd’s surviving family loves include two brothers, Paul (Des Moines) and Cecil (Janesville, WI), daughter Kim (Aurora, CO), son and daughter-in-law, Clark and Barb Duncan (Bella Vista, AR), 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd was preceded sadly in death by his wife of 67 years, Arly, and their first daughter, Trudy.
