Service Details
Ronald L. “Ron” Dempsey, 69, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at New Life Lutheran Church in Norwalk, Iowa. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM prior to the service. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Lyn-Wood Cemetery in Clarksville, Iowa
Ron was born February 22, 1944 in Waverly, Iowa to Robert and Gladys Dempsey. He married Frances Henning on June 21, 1964 and to this union a daughter, Denise and son, Rod was born.
Ron retired from Farmland Insurance after 30 plus years. He then worked for Autorama Inc., retiring in 2009. Ron enjoyed traveling with Fran and his friends, especially chasing trains! His pride and joy were his four grandchildren, Katie, Robert, Emma, Rhett and his dog, Cody.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Fran of 48 years; daughter, Denise (Pat) McCurnin; son, Rod Dempsey and grandchildren, Katie, Robert, Emma and Rhett.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed to the New Life Lutheran Church, 4380 Wakonda Dr. Norwalk, Iowa. 50211.

After losing my mother my heart goes out to families that lose "dear ones." Reading about Ron he was a gem of a man. He loved his wife and family. He worked a difficult profession in insurance and was successful. My condolences to the family. Please find comfort in the words of John 5:28,29.

So sad to hear of Ron's passing. I was honored to work with him at Autorama. Recently I got to re-connect with him as a customer at Hobby Haven. I am going to miss him coming in and saying "there's trouble" with that great grin.

I was so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. There sure are good memories from the past 30- plus years that we've known each other.. It was really nice running into the 2 of you around town as frequently as we did the last few years and having good "catching-up" visits. Your family is in my prayers. May your memories and God carry you through this difficult time.
