Christina Herweh-Johnson

Christina Herweh-Johnson, 44, passed away in her sleep Saturday, April 6, 2013.

Christina was born November 17, 1968, in Des Moines. She graduated from East High School in 1987, and American College of Hairstyling in 1991. On July 19, 2008, she married Paul Johnson, and they lived in Knoxville for ten years before recently moving back to Des Moines. Christina was currently working as an Assistant Manager for Dollar Tree in Ankeny. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She embraced her time spent with love when she was with her grandson. Christina loved animals, especially Buttons and Coco. She enjoyed tanning, manicures, and collecting M&Ms and heart-shaped memorabilia.

Christina is survived by her husband, Paul Johnson; sons, John (Nick Lind) Herweh and Brandon (Jennifer Terry) Pliler; step-son, Tim Johnson; grandson, Bentley Pliler; mother, Pamela (John) Frakes; father, Billy Wayne (Erin) Herweh, Sr.; grandmother, Berta Bjork; sister, Dawn (Kimberly) Herweh; brother, Billy Wayne Herweh, Jr.; and a host of extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clifford Lynn and Maxine Bardwell, and her son-in-law, Ryan McConnell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
