Lynn Paul "Red" Scannell

Lynn Paul “Red” Scannell, 46, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Red was born on January 28, 1967, in Culver City, California, to Judy Paulette (Lundy) and Leslie Lynn Scannell. He worked for Weitz Construction and was a member of the Local 177 Laborers Union. Red loved spending time with his family and playing pool. He also enjoyed working on cars and building model airplanes.

Red is survived by his children, Tanner, Katherine, Barbara, and Tabitha Scannell, and David Karr; fiancée, Elizabeth Houghton; parents, Leslie and Judy Scannell; brother, Dwayne Scannell; sister, Patricia Smith; grandchildren, Aiden Kirkland and Taylor and Dominick Karr; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
