Steven D. Balaski

Steven Dale Balaski, 59, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Steven was born August 3, 1953, in Baudette, Minnesota, to Joveney (Tolpingrud) and Hubert Balaski. He served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1975. Steven has been a resident of Des Moines since 2000, spending the ten years prior to that in Colorado. He was employed by Siebert Trucking as a driver.

Steven is survived by his son, Kenny Couchman; daughter, Emily Couchman; daughter, Joanne Fisher; grandchildren, Gavin, Ethan and Ryan; brother, Hugh Balaski, Jr.; nephews, Chris and Mike Balaski; aunt, Patricia Johnson and husband, Ben; uncle, Alton Tolpingrud and wife, Ott; and father, Hubert Balaski, Sr. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joe; sister, Tammy; and mother, Jo.
