Danny Lee Benton

Danny Lee Benton, 64, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home. Danny was born December 25, 1949, to Richard, Sr., and Shirley Benton in Des Moines.

Danny was a good soul who enjoyed camping, taking photos, and celebrating Halloween. He was a jack of all trades, working at the Bingo Hall in Highland Park and a bar for many years. Danny went to his meetings at the White House where he met many good friends and learned to become a better person.

Danny is survived by his brothers, Rick Benton and Richard Benton, Jr.; sisters, Teri Rice, Marti (Tamara Voland) Schut, Shari Schut, and Kathy Ameigh; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Hegwood; father, Richard Benton, Sr.; and brother, Gary Benton.

A memorial visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
