Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Amos passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013. Bobbie was born on April 14, 1927, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Grace (Fry) and Ray Amos.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013, at First Unitarian Church, 1800 Bell Avenue.
Those left to celebrate Bobbie’s life are her children, Karen Van Sickle and Mike (Lisa) Van Sickle; grandchildren, Jacob Spain, Christopher Mead, Melissa (Chris) Cote, and Gunner Van Sickle; great-grandsons, Elijah and Hunter Cote; brother, Carl (Eunice) Amos; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and special friends.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Animal Life Line, 4521 SE 14th Street, Des Moines, IA. 50320.

Karen, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I enjoyed visiting with your mom over the years. What I will remember most is while my mom was going through all her chemo and radiation before her passing your mom communicated with me via email to check in and make sure my spirits were up. I will never forget that even though she herself was suffering. My thoughts are with all of you as you work through all your emotions, the necessary things, etc. I send strength your way.

Karen, do you remember when I came over to your Mom's house and the spider was loose. I always wondered why your Mom would take care of such a large spider. Now I know, Mom's will do anything for their children.
I hope all the wonderful memories you have of your Mom will live on and on, which will put a smile on your face.

Hi, Karen,
I am JoAn's friend and fellow UU who knows you from JoAn's full moon parties. I share in your joy for the life of your sweet mother and your sadness as her passing. I will not be able to attend the memorial because I am working that day, but I will be thinking of you and Jake and the rest of your family. I will remember her when I attend church and see the empty place where she used to sit wearing her cute hat.
