Robert T. Owens, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Owens, Jr., 63, passed away March 15, 2013 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. He was born January 8, 1950 in Des Moines, son of Doris and Robert Owens, Sr.

Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW, Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 33, and the American Legion. Bob loved riding horses, but above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sally; daughters, Roxanne (Tim) Mussmann of Bondurant, and Amy (Cory) Breese of Prole, Iowa; three grandchildren, Bruce Mussmann, Thomas Mussmann and Isabelle Breese; as well as his brother, Mark (Chris) Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nina Caldwell.

The family would like to thank Taylor House Hospice and nurse, Susie, for their kindness and support toward Bob and his family during this difficult time.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at Berwick Cemetery in Berwick, Iowa. A celebration of life gathering will follow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Altoona Hy-Vee Club Room, 108 8th Street SW in Altoona.
