William D. "Doug" Madsen

William Douglas “Doug” Madsen, 75, died at his home on Wednesday, March 12, 2013.

Doug was born April 17, 1937, in Des Moines, to Holger and Mary Madsen.

He was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. Doug served in the US Army, and had 18 years experience as a draftsman. He enjoyed dinners with his family and keeping up with current affairs.

Doug is survived by his cousins, Arda Mathern of Pleasant Hill, William (Susan) Jennison of Humeston, Iowa, and Barbara Cornell of California.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Jennison; father, Holger Peter Madsen; and step-father, Harold Dyson.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Doug.

A burial of cremated remains will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, located along Interstate 80 at exit 113 near Van Meter, Iowa.
