Lucille Foggia, 88, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at Fountain West Care Center in West Des Moines, Iowa. She was born January 17, 1925, in Des Moines, daughter of Joseph and Rose Grandanette.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and worked for the State of Iowa for more than 35 years, retiring in 1997. Lucille cherished her family and loved being a grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt. She had a beautiful smile for everyone.
Lucille is survived by her son, Lou (Kathy) Foggia; grandchildren, Emily (Darin) Chambers, Louis Foggia, Jr., and Suzanne Foggia; as well as her great-grandchild, Hayden Chambers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louis Foggia, two brothers, and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2926 Beaver Avenue in Des Moines, with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church and School in loving memory of Lucille.

So sorry to hear of Lucille's passing. I just found out yesterday. I worked with her quite a few years when she worked for the state of Iowa. She always had a smile. She always wanted to know about your business but she wanted to keep hers secret, but that was Lucille. Just know you have my prayers and sympathy.

Our prayers & Sympathy to the Foggia Family...
We always remember Lucille with her big smile to us everytime we saw her in the driveway specially Sunday after church. And she always asked "hows our tomatoes plant"...and she always wanted to know what my husband smoking from our smoker cuz my husband love to make smoked porkloin...and she said "Oh boy thats sounds good specially smoked ribs"....We missed you Lucille...You may rest in Peace...From your neighbor here in 41st. I remember Lucile so well when she worked at the Walk In Fruit market on East 6th street in Des Moines.
She was such a friendly person.
I grew up at Hammer Pharmacy,
a few steps north of the market.
