Graydon B. Martin

Graydon B. Martin, 91, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Union Park Nursing Home.

Graydon was born April 8, 1921, in Sutherland, Iowa, to Elwin and Cora Martin, the eldest of seven children. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. On July 3, 1948, he married Ortha Williams. Graydon enjoyed leather craft and gardening. He was a volunteer at the East Side Senior Center for many years.

Graydon is survived by his daughter, Linda Moore; grandchildren, Richard (Jeri) Moore, David Graham, Caroll (Roger) Jansen, Theresa Graham, and Matt (Amy) Graham; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Eldreda, Phyllis, and Nina; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marietta Kay Graham; great-grandson, Cory Moore; great-great-grandson, Robert Davis III; siblings, Orrin, Delbert, and Ardeth; and his beloved wife of 62 years, Ortha.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Easton Place United Methodist Church, 2412 Easton Blvd. A private family burial will take place at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland, Iowa, at a later date.
