Ginny passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, while surrounded by family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 16, at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy., West Des Moines.
Ginny was born August 25, 1934, in Albert City, Iowa, to Douglas and Helen Boyce. She was happiest when spending time with family and dear friends. She was a kind and loving spirit. Ginny enjoyed being a sponsor for AA and a part of Celebrate Recovery, volunteering at Freedom for Youth, as well as her tea on Tuesdays with her SALT sisters, and many other church activities. Her courageous, fun-loving, positive attitude was contagious. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ginny is survived by her sons, Michael Saylor, Stephen (Denise) Saylor, and Scott (Vicky) Saylor; sisters, Kathleen (Tom) Goral and Donna (Dino) Silvestre; brothers, Douglas (Paula) Boyce II, Eugene (Paula) Boyce, and Randal (Nancy Weiss) Boyce; granddaughters, Jennifer, April, Sara Jo, and Kym; great grandsons, Ryan, Josh, Luke, and Storm; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Above and Beyond Cancer, Freedom for Youth, Lutheran Church of Hope, and Mercy Hospice.

Mike, Stevie and Scott,
I was so sorry to read of your mother's death. I used to babysit for you in Jesup many years ago and learned so much about childcare as a result of those evenings. Your Aunt Donna and Uncle Doug and I were in school together and I want to extend my condolences to your entire family. Ginny was a sparkling presence in a fairly somber town. I know you'll miss her, but am confident she will remain bright in your memories, as she always has in mine.

Ginny was such a positive energy in my life and the lives of my Daughters Emily, Sarah, and Claire Ann. I'm sorry I lost touch with this Beautiful person in the last few years and extend my condolences to her family in their time of sorrow.

I haven't been in touch with your mom/sister for awhile, but she was a very special person to me. She was a good friend to my mom, Betty Meyers, and when my mom was very, very ill, Ginny came and sat with her and helped us out immensely. She has had a very special place in my heart, I thought she was a wonderful person! I am so sorry for your loss. My sympathy to all of you.

I'm so sorry to read about Ginny. It's been awhile since I've seen her. I knew her from "SALT" bible study and she was a wonderful, positive spirit. I admired her perserverence and faith. To her family: May God's peace surround you and fill your heart right now. Your mom/sister touched more lives in a positive way than you'll ever know. I hope the good memories of her lift you up at this hard time.

Ginny, Seems like only yesterday we worked together. Your smile, laugh and kindness to everyone will never leave us, You treated all with respect and love. Your spirit lives within us all. You will always be, "Aunt Ginny" to my sons. My prayers are with your family.

To Ginny's family, I am so sorry for your loss. Ginny was an amazing friend! She was full of life, love, and a fundraiser to help out others! She had hugs and joy for everyone. She lived the gospel and added so much to my life. I will miss her but know she is in heaven praying for us all.
