Junior Merle Morgan, 87, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 8, 2013, at his home in Ankeny.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, at Ankeny Church of Christ, 224 SW 3rd Street, Ankeny, IA. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lohrville, Iowa.
Junior was born March 16, 1925, in Adaza, Iowa, to John and Elizabeth Morgan. Junior was a member and retired pastor of Ankeny Church of Christ. He was a lifelong student of the Word of God and loved sharing his knowledge and counseling others. He gave of himself freely and had gladly devoted his life to Christ. Juinor proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Junior is survived by his son, Dennis (Pat) Morgan and his daughters, LaVon Boucher and Charmene Perkins; grandchildren, Melissa, Jason, Shawn, Sarah, Kim, Jeremy, Jared, Dustin, Krystal, Paul, and Julia; niece and dear friend, Sandy Jackson; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark; grandson, Mark Jr.; two sisters; and five brothers.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Ankeny Church of Christ in loving memory of Junior.

You were so compassionate to those around you & touched so many lives.

The Second Mile". I have heard you share this with so many who were
Struggling with a problem in their life. Yet then your telling someone who had lost a job that God has a better one in mind for you. What a positive outlook you shared with them.
I will miss seeing & visiting with you
As we sat together in class. I guess we will just have to wait until We are together in heaven to catch up on our conversations.
Your advice has helped me through many situations as we worked together in Christ's church. Your

Junior will be deeply missed. He touched my life from the day we met. He took great pleasure in pulling practical jokes. The best part was laughing with him as he retold his little pranks. Here's to you Mr. Igotchu! Your spirit lives on in all the lives you have touched.

So sorry to hear of Junior's passing. He was my favorite neighbor at Autum Ridge Estates. I loved his sense of humor. He found great joy in scaring the bejeebers out of me whenever he had the opportunity. He always helped me out with mowing and watching over my home while I was gone. I so appreciated his help. He was a kind and thoughtful person. He will be missed.
