Reed Joseph Hoffman, 3, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born July 22, 2009, in Des Moines, the son of Ernie and Dawn Hoffman.
Reed loved his animals, riding horses and four wheelers, climbing trees, and going to the zoo. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, and playing with Blondie, his grandma’s German shepherd. One of his favorite things was playing with his trucks and tractors, especially the fire trucks. Reed loved to run and play and could make everything fun! He touched the hearts of so many, and had a way of putting a smile on the faces of everyone who knew him. He was a special little boy that will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Reed is survived by his mommy and daddy, Dawn and Ernie; sister, Madyson; brother, Zane; grandparents, Dick and Barb Hoffman; grandmother, Ava Roberts; grandparents, Steve and Nella Wallace; great-grandmother, Ann Wallace; and great-grandfather, Fred Roberts; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th Street SW in Altoona, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Blank Children’s Hospital in loving memory of Reed.

Dr. Hoffman, Dawn and family-
My heart aches for you over the tragic loss of your sweet boy, Reed. I pray that God gives you strength to get through each day knowing your sweet angel is now with you always.
