Harley F. Hodge

Harley F. Hodge, 93, son of Clyde and Edith Hodge of Greenfield, IA, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Fleur Heights Care Center.

Harley lived in Des Moines since 1945. He was employed as a security guard at Firestone, and retired from Goodyear Retread.

He enjoyed nature and watching baseball games and football games. During his younger years he liked to go hunting and fishing.

Harley will be missed by his wife of 72 years, Ruby; daughters, Shirley (Dan) Reyes of Des Moines, Joyce (Gary) Roach of Des Moines, and Connie (Byron) Shanahan of Weston, Nebraska; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen.

Visitation will be at noon, Saturday, March 2, 2012, with a funeral service at 2 p.m., at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
