Lacey Holtmyer, 54, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at Broadlawns Hospital. Per her request her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Lacey was born December 30, 1958. She graduated in 1976 from Greenfield High School in Greenfield, Iowa. Her zest for life let her experience and enjoy so much that life had to offer, from horseback riding to sky diving. Lacey loved her friends and family and she was always there to make the best of it. Animals were her passion and throughout her life, you never knew what new critter had been added to her menagerie. She found her calling in life as a licensed practical nurse with in home health care. It brought her great satisfaction in helping others through their medical problems. Every year you could find her at the State Fair patrolling the grounds. It was something she looked forward to.
Lacey is survived by her fiancé, Brett Lovely; father, Maurice Holtmyer; goddaughter, Janina Alvarez, whom she treasured dearly; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Holtmyer.

Lacey today is a year after you died i miss you so much ive been good in school i know you wouldnt want me to be sad but its hard everyday i always think its my fault that you died you always said i could call you but i was busy with school but that doesnt mean i could just spend at least a minute to see how you were doing im so sorry. I called you last year on this day about to go to school and you said i have to go and thats it i never got to say I Love You. I wen t to school and when i got home i was wondering were mom was and i called her and she said she took you to the hospital and she had my aunt pick me up and take me there and you were in a comma and then you passed.

Lacey- I know you did more with my sister, but you always made sure everybody was included.You always brought a smile on my face, and I guess Jesus decided it was time that you were needed in a better place. I sure will miss you, with love, Alexis.

Lacey, thank you for all the fun memories at the fair, kids fest, Family dinners, and many more thank you for thinking of me during my surgeries and through the hard times and I had so much fun hanging out with you in your life and more memories to come I know you will always be with me in my heart and I know you will be with me for the rest of my life in my heart and when I get my voice fixed someday thank you for being my godmom love your goddaughter, Janina

Lacey, you spent the majority of your life caring for others, especially my daughter Janina. She started out as your patient, who later became your Goddaughter. This was "your promotion" as you would say. It was a pleasure having you as part of our family. We could always count on you to bring the pea salad at holiday dinners. Your body was plagued with diabetes and then breast cancer at the end. It may have given out but your soul lives on through the ones you touched. You are greatly missed.
