James "Jimmie" Thompson

James “Jimmie” Thompson, 47, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Taylor House Hospice.

Jimmie was born March 1, 1965, in Des Moines, to James and Roberta “Bert” Thompson. He attended Lincoln High School, and was a security guard at the Ruan Building for 20 years. Jimmie was a huge Dallas Cowboy, Chicago Cubs and Iowa State Cyclone fan. He loved to cook and listen to Rock & Roll music.

Jimmie is survived by his sister, Jamie (William, Jr.) Poe, and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Kelly Rush.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will be held at Glendale Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
