Robert Bradshaw, Sr.

Robert Bradshaw, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Taylor House Hospice, February 16, 2013, of Lymphoma. He was born August 21, 1928, to Raymond J. and Rev. Ruth Bradshaw in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was a lifetime member of Teamsters Local 147. Robert retired in September 1986 from Churchill Freightlines. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, later becoming an avid golfer, acquiring 4 holes-in-one of which he was very proud.

Robert was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Glen, and his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances, of 67 years; son, Robert Jr. (Kathie); grandson, Robert III (Rachel); granddaughters, Cherie and Shenna (Bobby O’Dell); as well as 6 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
