Donald Birchette

Donald Lee Birchette, 78, died February 16, 2013, in Des Moines. He was born May 20, 1934, in Iowa City, the son of Marjorie (McCool) and Daniel Birchette. Cremation has occurred, and an interment ceremony will be held later in the summer.

Birchette worked for Delavan Manufacturing Company in Des Moines for 25 years as a tool and die maker. He retired from Parr Manufacturing in 2005, after working for the company for 27 years. He loved to hunt and fish.

Donald is survived by four children, Dawn M. Bowman of Pleasantville, Katherine A. (Juan) Diaz of Harker Heights, Texas, Daniel J. (Angela) Birchette of Hannibal, Missouri, and William R. (Kim Kellen) Birchette of Milo; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Diaz, Amelia Diaz, Renee Birchette, Erin Birchette, Danny Birchette, Zeb Birchette, and Zoey Birchette; and several nieces and nephews, including Michael Birchette, of Fort Collins, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Daniel Birchette and Robert Birchette.
