Dwayne Sawyer

Dwayne “Andy” Sawyer, 57, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center.

Andy was born November 16, 1955, in Streator, Illinois, and grew up in Iowa. He was an EMT in Des Moines for many years. Andy enjoyed reading, collecting EMT paraphernalia, and spending time with his dogs, Maggie and Mollie. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Lions.

Andy is survived by his wife, Dawn; sisters, Dawyn Sawyer and Dee Gee (Dave) Artebury; brother, Dale (Babette) Sawyer; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Jennifer) Evans and John (Susan) Evans; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Margaret Sawyer.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2013, at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
