Sueanne Payne, 82, passed away from complications due to brain surgery on Friday, February 8, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Sueanne was born September 19, 1930, in Woodward, IA, to Ben and Minnie Price. She spent 46 years in the Runnells area before moving to Altoona. Sueanne was a member of the Altoona Regular Baptist Church. She loved her family, they were her passion. She was an excellent cook and a fabulous baker. Sueanne gave of herself freely, offering spiritual guidance to many.
Sueanne is survived by her husband of 64 years, Eugene; children, Judy (Steve) Miller, James Payne, Brian (Donna) Price, and John Price; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; and her great-granddaughter, Joy.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Berwick Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Altoona Regular Baptist Church in loving memory of Sueanne.

Uncle Gene...I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm also sorry we didn't find out sooner :( May peace and the grace of God be with all of you...Aunt Suzie...I loved to hear you laugh :) RIP

Our loss is heaven's gain!! We praise the Lord for Gene and Sueanne's friendship. When we were 22 years old and they were many years older, they were our best friends. We often spent long evenings in their living room rocking and talking (and eating, of course! She always had something fresh or from the freezer.) We will miss her smile and laughter!! Our condolences for Gene and the family.

There are too many good things about this lady to even try to write down,,,,,,,first of all,,,she was a wonderful christian,,,,,she loved her family,,,,she was like my second mother,,seeing as my mother had passed away when i was very young,,,,,she made me feel as though her home was my home,,,,,i knew she loved me too,,,,,,i remember well,,the sunday's after church,,that i would go home with them and stay until church that evening,,,judy,,her daughter, was my BEST friend ever,,,,lots of great memories , to hold on to,,,,,,,she was AN AWESOME COOK,,,,i love this lady,,she was very special,,,,,i know she will be missed by many,,,it is a great comfort to know that sueanne is in heaven,,,,,,my prayers are with her family,
