Gwen Losee, 68, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013.
Gwen was born June 21, 1944, in Webster City, to William and Fern Watts. She graduated from East High School in 1963. Gwen married her high school sweetheart, Don Losee, in August of 1964. They were married 35 years until his death in 2000. Gwen worked at Principal for 35 years until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of Capitol Hill Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society.
Gwen is survived by her daughter, DeAnne (Tom) Nall; grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Nall; and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Don.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 11, 2013, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. There will be a Graveside Service at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, at Glendale Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E 42nd Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Gwen.

I am speechless. This loss is beyond words. Please know I am here for you morning, noon, and night. I can't imagine the pain you are feeling and if there was a way to take it away, I would. I would truly do anything to take it away. I am just so sorry.

I graduated with Gwen from East High in 1963. We made contact a few times through out the years. I always enjoyed your mother's bubbling personality and laugh.

So many years ago I worked with Gwen at American Republic Insurance Co. and my husband worked with Don at a grocery store. I remember Gwen when she was a new bride. She always had a smile and was a lovely person. She will be missed by so many people.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with your mom for years at Principal and even after her retirement we remained friends. Gwen and I had dinner with the other Contracts A group just a few weeks ago. I am so glad we got that time to share stories of our families. She loved talking about her family. Your mom is with God and your dad now. They are looking down on you and your family with big smiles on their faces. They will always be present in the memories you keep close to your heart. Gwen was a delight and will be missed.

Gwen was very proud of her family. She enjoyed talking about her grandchildren & their school activies & their future dreams. . We will miss Gwen at our Red Hat Society outings. She infused joy, friendship & encouragement to all of us.

Dear DeAnne, Tom, Emily, and Ryan,
We are all thinking of you in this time of loss, and focusing on remembering all of those happy family events over the years from summer trips to Minnesota and the Ozarks to visits to the Iowa State Farm to all the meals and holidays at Aunt Ruth and Grandma Gudrun's house to visits at Uncle Bill and Aunt Fern's house, and so much more. We will all miss Gwen so very much.
