Carol Brooks

Carol Ann Rife Brooks, 69, passed away at her home Saturday, February 2, 2013.

Carol was born December 7, 1943, in Johnston to Carl and Doris Rife. She was a lifelong resident of the Johnston/Des Moines area. Carol was a member of the Lutheran Church Society. She was an avid reader and loved being outside tending her flowers.

Carol is survived by her significant other, Robert Neades; children, Ann Diemer, Tina Baker, Richard Brooks, and Ellen Nelson Sabin; step-children, Rick Brooks, Timothy Neades, Angela Neades, Bobby Neades, and Dennis Neades; brother, Lester Rife; sister, Kimberly Grimm; 23 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Ridgedale Cemetery in Johnston. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
