Russell Lemley
January 31, 2013
Russell Wayne Lemley passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 31, 2013. Russell was born on May 19, 1955, in Marengo, Iowa, to Wayne and Sylvia Lemley.
Russ lived life to the fullest. He loved & cherished his family especially his grandchildren. He loved his family vacations & the many 2nd honeymoons that he and his wife, Donna, took. Russ loved the outdoors - fishing, hiking, boating, and riding his ATV in the woods. He enjoyed water skiing as well as driving the boat so others could experience the fun. Russ especially enjoyed vacationing in Minnesota each year, and shared the vacation with many family members. He was a great photographer and took many wildlife pictures. He also inherited the ability to fix anything from his Dad, and was always looking for ways to help others. Russ worked for UPS as a package car driver for over 30 years. Oh how he'll be missed!
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will greet friends starting at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Glendale Cemetery.
Russell leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Donna; his children, Sarah (Dan) Fillius and Todd (Beth) Lemley; his grandchildren, Willa, Cael, and Blake; his mother, Sylvia Lemley; his father in-law, Glenn Blackman; his sisters, Linda (Jim) Wade and Anita (Gerry) Frazier; brother in-law, Al (Jane) Hart; and other loving family and friends.
Those who have gone on before him are his father, Wayne; his sister, Patty Hart; and his mother-in-law, Willie Blackman.

We will miss Russ around the house. He was so handy putting in the stair rails and grip holds after mom had a stroke and dad's heart attack. When Russ saw a need he just took care of it without asking. I'm sure 4 year old Cael and his little brother Blake will miss the grandpa who spoiled them with the John Deere tractors, toys, and hats. We didn't see this coming.
