Charles “Chuck” E. Bell, 64, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, January 31. 2013.
Chuck was born October 26, 1948, in Perry, Iowa, to Elmer and Florence Bell. He retired from being a bakery manager at Dahl’s where he worked for 33 years.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jane, and between them they had six children: Jackie Bell of Ankeny, Terry Bell of Michigan, Laura Bell of Ames, Melissa (Ed) Pagliai of Des Moines, James Overton of Bondurant; and Jennifer (Ryan) Cole of Bondurant; five grandchildren; mother, Florence Bell of Perry; brother, John (Joyce) Bell of Ankeny; other loving relatives; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father and sister.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2013, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Bondurant Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Hospice or the family.

Jackie was always a very kind and genuine classmate and Terry was a heckuva baseball player. I am saddened to hear of this news. To the entire extended family, please know my prayers are with you in your time of loss and grieving for Chuck. God bless you all.

I worked with Chuck on and off over 26 years and always knew him to be the hardest working guy I ever met. We had a lot of fun at Dahl's, and it was a privilege to work with one of the best! He had a big heart and a big laugh! So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Though I only met Chuck a couple of times, he made me laugh and had a great sense of humor. I know he will be deeply missed by his family and we will all miss his wonderful baked goods!
