James Bishop, Sr.

James “Jim” Bishop, Sr., 61, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Taylor House. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Jim worked for Des Moines Asphalt for many years and retired in 2000 from Local Union 177.
Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Jim Jr. (Hiedi) Bishop, Kelli (Lee) Walker, Larry (Heather) Haus, Heather Smith and Terri (Martine) Lopez, all of Des Moines; sisters, Kathy (Lee) McGregor and Judy (Bob) Lester; brother, Greg Volk; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
