Dolores Cockerham, 74, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Taylor House Hospice.
Dolores was born January 10, 1939, in Des Moines, to Maurice and Dolores (Garvey) Adams. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and ice skating.
Dolores is survived by her sons, Steve C. (Cindy) Cockerham, Jim R. (Carol) Cockerham, and David M. Cockerham; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, David and Richard Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Cockerham, and her brother, Maurice Adams.
Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Taylor House Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion Dolores received during her brief stay.

Steve, Jim and David, I'm so sorry about your Mom. I just learned of her death as I was out of town when the obituary was published. So many fond memories, good food, glad I have the painting she did for Bill and I treasure the Ohio cupboard which she and your uncle helped Bill refinish (it was Bill's grandmother's). Each of you were wonderful sons and she treasured each of you. My sympathies to each of you and your families.

Steve, Jim and David,
We were so sorry to hear of your mother's death. She was a neat lady and neighbor. We remember watching her play catch and warm up you boys for baseball games. Also, we enjoyed visiting about her painting. She was a gifted artist. Hope you all have some of her paintings.
We are in Alabama on our winter vacation and just learned of her death.

Steve, Jim, David and all of your families: I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Your mom ("Aunt Dorie" to me) was always so nice to us. I have fond memories of gathering at Grandma and Grandpa Adams' house with your family. You and your mom are all in our prayers.

Steve, Jim and Dave: I am sorry to hear about your mom. I will always remember the baseball games we used to have in your backyard when we were growing up. A lot of times, Dee would come out and play with us, and she was as good as any of us. My condolences to your families.
