Betty Jones

Betty Jones, 80, passed away January 28, 2013, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was born February 26, 1932, in Hartley, Iowa, to Milo and Anna Allen.

Betty enjoyed cooking and canning as well as embroidery, talking on the phone, fishing, and taking trips to Prairie Meadows. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her children, Barbara, Albert , Donald, Cindy, Dale (Linda), Raymond, and Randy; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Robin and Karla; brother, Wayne (Mary) Allen; sister, Sharon (Florence) Worden; sisters-in-law, Aletha Allen and Eileen Allen; special nephew, Butch Oakman; as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; sons, LeRoy, Keith, and Gary; her parents, and siblings, Clara, Cora, Maxine, Milo Jr., Matt, Robert, and George.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
