Service Details
William “Bill” Metzger, Sr., 77, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Friday.
Bill was born September 1, 1935, in Buffalo, New York, to William and Ruth Metzger. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. Bill enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eileen; children, William, Jr., Kelley (Phil) Rocco, Kimberly Flores, and Kevin (Julie); twelve grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his grandson, Billy.

Rest in Peace Bill, over the past 35 years you always treated me like a part of your family, I will miss your guidance and advise, you help me to become a man and I looked to you as a example how to be a good father. Uncle Bill was my Mom's younger brother. He lived with his family in California and we lived in Buffalo so we didn't get to see each other very often. But it was always great to see him when he came back to Buffalo to visit. Such a sweet, wonderful man who will be missed. Love to you, Uncle Bill

Bill worked security at the courthouse in Hemet and I loved seeing him. When he told me he and Eileen were moving to Iowa to be close to Bill and his grandkids I was sad to see him go. What a great guy. My best thoughts and prayers for Eileen, Bill, Kelly, Kevin and the grandkids.

Although I hadn't seen Uncle Bill in a long time I will always have fond memories of him. He was a quiet man but always sweet and kind to me. I am keeping all the family in my prayers and sending love and hugs from Texas.
