Lady Maxine Gill

L. Maxine Gill, 96, passed away January 24, 2013.

Maxine was born June 28, 1916 in Boone, Iowa to Otis and Blanche Mougin. She attended Simpson College and was a school teacher prior to raising her family. Maxine had lived in Arkansas and Illinois before moving back to Iowa in 1998. She was a member of Highland Park Christian Church.

Maxine is survived by her sons, William (Shirley) McNaney and Steve (Patricia) McNaney; step-children, Mary (Norm) Reeves and Kathy (Joseph) Collins; 20 grandchildren, along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William V. McNaney; second husband, Duane S. Gill; and her step-son, Richard Gill.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 NW 6th Drive, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
