Milton Wheeler

Milton Wheeler Sr., 74, passed away from complications of Diabetes, Saturday, January 19, 2013, at his home in Ankeny, with his family at his side. He was born December 29, 1938, in Des Moines, to James W. and Mildred P. Wheeler.

Milton spent two decades as a computer systems analyst, but was better known as the owner of Hiland Park Hardware Co. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Milton is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Cozette (Kitty) Wheeler; his four sons, Milton, Jr. (Jenny), Scott (Angela), Brett (Kathy), and Brad (Lori), eighteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers; James (Phyllis), Wallace (Johnnie), and Robert (Rae), and a sister Paula Streepy (Mike). He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Deborah.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m., Pastor Paul I. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Church of the Nazarene Missions Fund, 1451 E. 25th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50317, in loving memory of Milton.
