Helen Farmer

Helen Loraine Farmer, 90, of Des Moines, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013, at Trinity Center at Luther Park. She was born July 18, 1922, in Nevada, Missouri, to Winfield and Elsie (Reeves) Thomas. She married Edward E. Farmer in 1941, and they were the parents of two children.

Helen is survived by her daughter Jean (John) Olson of Mitchellville, and son Jim (Marie) Farmer of Johnson; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home at 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin, Missouri.

Helen was a member of Capitol Hill Christian Church. The family would like to thank Pastor Candice Brown, all the staff of Trinity Center at Luther Park, and Mercy Hospice for all the care, caring, and love given to our mother and grandmother.
