Virginia M. (Clark) Woodford, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, January 18, 2013, at Bright Kavanagh House.
Virginia was born June 22, 1927, in Des Moines, to Isaac and Ina (Stiles) Clark. She retired from the U.S. Postal Office where she worked in the Vehicle Maintenance Dept. as a clerk. Virginia was very creative, always coming up with new and beautiful arts and crafts. She loved Bingo, was a lifetime bowler and an avid water skier. Above all, Virginia’s greatest joy in life came from being a grandmother.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Adrian) Kouri; daughter-in-law, Sue Woodford; grandchildren, Stevie (Diana) Kouri, Tony (Jessica) Kouri, John Woodford (Vickie), Sheri Woodford (Jim), and Todd Woodford (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Nicole, Ethan, Conner, Raegan, Tony, Danny, Rachel, Shawna, Ashley, Haley, and Tyler; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steven M. Woodford; son, Steven D. Woodford; and her brothers, Wilbur, Roy, and Raymond Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Bright Kavanagh House.

Deb, I'm sorry. Aunt Ginny was a wonderful lady. We have great memories. She's now with Uncle Steve. I'm glad Randy and Sue are there. Randy is supposed to give you lots of love from me.

Deb---we were so sorry to hear of Virginia's passing. I was very surprised to read she was 85 as she was such a youthful and energetic women. She was always a pleasure to talk with. I know how greatly she will be missed. Theresa

I was so surprised to see Virginia's picture in the paper this A.M. She was such a help to me at the bowling alley. Working when I was gone. She was also my friend. She will be missed. My prayers are with her family. God Bless! Willa Nichols
