We disagreed about religion and politics but I think we both had fun sharing our positions with each other. I feel fortunate to have had a caring father who was there for me when I needed support--especially when I entered adulthood. Thanks Dad.

Sincere Sympathy to all of Ed's family. We were friends in Des Moines year ago before I moved to Carroll, IA and later to Maryland, New Jersey and now Texas with wife Carol. Enjoyed great conversations with Ed and admired his financial expertise. RIP good friend! Also an Exira , IA native, Harvey Andersen

We were both saddened by Ed's passing. He enjoyed being a part of "The Men's Club" at Sunny View, especially sanding wood items with Dennis. He always brought a smile and humor to the Men's Club. We will miss him terribly. We know he and Jim are in heaven playing cribbage!

I am very saddened at hearing of this passing. He was still my Father, and was a memorable part of my life.I regret not being around in his later years.
I feel that my enjoyment of country music was instilled by him, and he was influential on me appreciating outdoorsmen type of activities like camping.
He also showed me places that I've might have never seen, like Mexico, Canada, Arizona, and California. He also influenced my admiration of just seeing rural Iowa,
He definetly touched the people he was in contact with.
Its a very sad day
