Service Details
Florence Meredith Peters, 96, died on January 10, 2013, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.
Meredith was born on June 12, 1916, in Tama, Iowa, to Walter and Lena Yerkes. After graduation from the University of Northern Iowa, Meredith married John Peters. The couple moved to Marshalltown where they raised their family.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane (Frank) Richards of Placentia, CA, Susan (Terry) Hostetter of Leawood, KS, and Carol of Windsor Heights, IA; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Meredith was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Eleanor Grier; her husband, John Peters; son, Terry Peters; and daughter, Patricia Peters.

I just want to let you know that my wife and I are so sorry for your loss of Meredith. Mary Jane,this is your mom's old mailman from 14th Ave in Mtown. I sure did enjoy our visits at your mom's place, way back when. I looked forward seeing you on your vacations from California.Our sincerest condolences

I have many fond memories of your mother from Norris Addition days. We coffeed together and played bridge and you "kids" all played and went to school together. That was a great neighborhood to be a part of.Hope your mom lived out her long life peacefully.
