Elizabeth Diana Trierweiler, age 6, of Urbandale, IA, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on January 9, 2013. She touched countless lives with her own and was an inspiration to all that knew her.

Elizabeth was born on January 27, 2006, in Des Moines, IA, to Markjon and Jacqueline (Cotter) Trierweiler. She attended Walnut Hills Elementary School and participated in Dance without Limits. Elizabeth loved her family and other children, especially her sister, Maura, and was the happiest when she was surrounded by her classmates at Walnut Hills Elementary.

In her short life, Elizabeth traveled extensively to faraway places like St. Martin, Maine, Florida, New York, California, Arizona, Minnesota, and Michigan. She participated in Special Olympics, rode horses, and loved to swim, boat, and water-tube. Her favorite cartoon character was her beloved “Elmo.” She loved visiting Disneyland, Disney World, and Mall of America, and especially loved water and amusement rides.

Elizabeth is survived by her parents, Markjon and Jacki Trierweiler of Urbandale, IA; her sister, Maura, also of Urbandale; grandparents, Ann Berger of Urbandale, Diana Dart of Brighton, MI, Mark Trierweiler and Linda Hundt of DeWitt, MI, Larry and Jeanne Cotter of Grimes, IA; aunts and uncles, Melissa and Greg Hunt of Johnston, IA, Shane and Amber Cotter of Polk City, IA, and Kathryn Jones of Denver, CO; cousins, Aiden Beaudry of Aurora, CO, Madelynn Beaudry of Brighton, MI, and Cael Cotter of Polk City, IA.

Services will be held at St. Boniface Church, 1200 Warrior Lane in Waukee, Iowa, with the visitation on Friday evening, January 11, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m., and the funeral mass on Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m.

The family wishes to thank the many family members and friends and the exceptional medical staff at Blank Children’s Hospital who supported Elizabeth’s numerous hospitalizations, and who shared in the extraordinary joy that was her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Blank Children’s Hospital.
