Margie McBee, age 92, passed away January 5, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
She was born November 25, 1920, to Mabel and Edward Boltz in Scott County, Iowa.
Margie loved to visit with family and friends, especially children. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, quilting, watching auto racing and basketball, and making her noodles for a crowd.
Margie is survived by her children, Jerold McBee, Steve (Judy) McBee, Merv McBee, Loy (Bonnie) McBee, and Ronna (Kirk) Behanish; grandchildren, Kirk (Traci) McBee, Gary (Marti Jo) McBee, Holly McBee, Levi McBee, Susan (Steve) Pair, Brad (Jeanette) McBee, Michael (Tracy) Backus, Kelly (Matt) Cassidy, Andrew (Andrea) Behanish, and Emily Behanish; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Cole, Morgan, Kaden, Aleah, Cooper, Amanda, Lauren, Ian, Alyssa, Gwen, Kennedy, Aria, and Easton; and sister, Verna Boltz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas McBee, and her son, Jim McBee.
Per Margie’s request, her body has been donated to Des Moines University. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Two weeks ago I held your hand and we said goodbye. I think of you every day, Grandma. I love you so much and always will. You have taught me so much and have been a great influence in my life. I will tell your new great-granddaughter Aria all about you. She is so precious; I know you would adore spending time with her. We'll never forget you.
