Arlean (Armstrong) Crum, 91, passed away January 1, 2013, at Fountain West Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2013, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, with burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Arlean was born December 3, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Marie (Wagoner) Armstrong. She was a telephone operator and worked in various businesses. She also helped her husband farm and spent many years volunteering at Clarke County Hospital.
Arlean is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Larry) Jones; grandson, Randy (Kim) Jones; great-grandson, Blake; sister, Maxine Douglas; brother, Jack (Mary Lou) Armstrong; sister-in-law, Carolyn Armstrong; brother-in-law, Glenn (Red) Crum; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carroll Crum; and brothers, Lewis and Bob Armstrong.
