John Mascaro, Sr.

John Mascaro, Sr., passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. John was born on November 4, 1934, in Des Moines, to Stella and Angelo Mascaro.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army. John loved manicuring his yard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and finding a good bargain. He worked for many years as a pressman for Stone Container.

John is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Kim Mascaro and John Mascaro, Jr.; his grandchildren, Xander and Devin; and his brother, Angelo (Patty) Mascaro; his nephews, Jim and Joe Mascaro; and his loyal companion, Lela.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. Family will greet friends starting at noon on Saturday until service time.
