Marvin L. Wise, Sr., 64, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Broadlawns Medical Center. Per his request, his body has been cremated and a private family gathering was held.
Marvin was born April 22, 1948, in St. Charles, Iowa, to Maurice and Audrey Wise. He graduated from I-35 High School. Marvin retired from Iowa Paint after 43 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and reading the newspapers.
Marvin is survived by his son, Marvin Wise, Jr.; Daughter, Melissa (Cesar) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Andy, Lacey, Nicole, Audrey, and Angel Gomez; great-granddaughter, Dianna; two great-grandsons on the way; sisters, Myrna, Janet, Leona, and Julia; and his best friend, Jolene Rouse. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Diana.

Just arrived home after being away for the holidays and very sad to learn of the death of my classmate at Interstate 35, Marvin Wise. Marvin was a very kind and gentle man and will be missed. May all of your loving memories bring you comfort and hold him near to your hearts.

Classmate, neighbor, and friend of Marvin - a quite, gentle, and kind friend whose face would easily turn red when teased, or attention turned to him. I am sorry for your loss, and happy to learn of his children and grandchildren. I am sure that you miss both your parents, and find comfort in their being together with our Lord.

Even though our families have not spent much time together, the memories have allways been in my heart. Uncle Marvin was a good man who loved his family. He will truly be missed. May God bless and bring comfort to Marvin Jr., Melissa, all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
