Raymond Newell

Raymond E. Newell, 73, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Hospital. He was born May 30, 1939, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Alice (Garton) and Raymond Newell, Sr.

Raymond loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed being outdoors. He was employed as an electrician. Raymond worked for Firestone, and most recently Baker Electric, until his retirement. He was a member of the Clay Masonic Lodge #193 in Lewisburg, Iowa, and Local 347 – IBEW.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda; children, Jacquelin (David) Nussbaum and Alan (Laura) Newell; and grandchildren, Daniel, Sean, Zoe, Cassidy, Cayleigh, and Julian.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Newell; and sister-in-law, Peggi Newell.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Pine Hill Cemetery.
