Rod, Kellie & Joel, we are just heartbroken at hearing about Emily. It doesn't even make sense that something like this would happen. I remember when Emily was learning to drive, watching her (and Kellie) pull up to Western Hills to pick up Joel, when he and Trevor were probably in kindergarten or 1st grade. She always seemed like such a sweet big sister. <3 I know this leaves such a big hole in your lives, and we are so sad with you. Much love to you all.

To the parents, brother, family, friends and boyfriend of Emily: We are hurting with you and for you! What an enormous and senseless tragedy to such a beautiful young girl!! We, as residents in her apartment complex of Promenade Place in Greenwood Village, CO, are in shock and horrified that this happened to our neighbor, Emily. May you find comfort in your memories and find the strength to get through this terribly difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Emily, may you rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the Weikert family for your terrible loss. Emily was a kind, caring, intelligent, good person. As someone who knew her at work, but not for as long or as well as others, I was still touched by the brightness of her personality and character. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
